Founded in 1958, Cotton Fire/Rescue is a combination department with more than 40 members. We are primarily responsible for a 19-square-mile area in southwest Cumberland County, North Carolina.
We assist several neighboring departments, including the Town of Hope Mills and the City of Fayetteville. We respond to approximately 2,300 calls per year. We provide Fire, Medical, Heavy Rescue, Water Rescue, and other Technical Rescue services to our community. Our fleet includes 4 Engines, 1 Heavy Rescue, 1 Brush Truck, 1 Squad, 2 Rescue Boats, and 1 ATV.
Our station is staffed by 6 firefighters 24/7, and 2 chiefs during business hours. Each day there are 6 paid firefighters on duty, and each night there are 4 paid firefighters and 2 volunteer firefighters on duty.
